Dr. Christoph Affolderbach

Christoph Affolderbach is a senior scientific collaborator at the Laboratoire Temps-Fréquence (LTF) at Université de Neuchâtel, Switzerland, since 2007. His research interests include the development of stabilized diode laser systems, atomic spectroscopy, and atomic frequency standards and other atom-based instrumentation, in particular vapor-cell based frequency standards including laser-pumped high-performance atomic clocks and miniaturized frequency standards. From 2015 to 2017 he was coordinator of the Centre de Compétences Temps-Fréquence et Métrologie Optique at Université de Neuchâtel.

He received his PhD degree in physics from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Germany, in 2002 with a thesis entitled “Dark state magnetometers and gradiometers”. From 2002 to 2006 he has been a research scientist at the Observatoire Cantonal de Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
