Short Vita
I am a researcher in the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and an associate professor in the Engineering School Arc of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland. I hold diplomas of Doctor in Computer Science from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (France, 1999), Master in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil, 1994) and Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil, 1988). After graduating, I worked two years for the computer industry in Brazil. Following that, I was tenured as assistant and later associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil, 1991-2007). During a sabbatical leave from UFSM, I worked as a Coregrid fellow for the Engineering and Architecture School of Fribourg (Switzerland, 2005-6) and the University of Pisa (Italy, 2006). I later worked at INRIA (France, 2007-8) for the EC-GIN European project and as an assistant professor at the University of Lisbon (Portugal, 2008-12). I am member of IEEE, ACM and SBC (Brazil). |
Research interests
Large-scale distributed systems as grids and clouds. I am a member of the dependable, concurrent, and distributed computing team. Keywords: Distributed resource management, virtualisation, fault- and intrusion tolerance, high performance computing and networking, cloud computing. |
