Content

Deep learning attempts to learn representations of data with multiple levels of abstraction. Deep learning usually refers to a set of algorithms and computational models that are composed of multiple processing layers. These methods have significantly improved the state-of-the-art in many domains including, speech recognition, classification, pattern recognition, and natural language processing (NLP). In this workshop, you will learn the main fundamental models in Deep Learning including Feedforward, Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), and, if possible, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). I also give an introduction to natural language processing using Deep Learning and present the details of Word2vec, a popular model for word representation with many applications in NLP.

The inscription to this seminar is free of charge but mandatory (CUSO website).

The seminar will be held in the main building of the Faculty of Science (number 5 on the map below).
The room is B-013 (ground floor).

You can reach the building from Place Pury (the main place of the city where all busses stop, letter A on the map) by taking the bus number 7 until the stop Portes-Rouges (letter C on the map). You will be north of the railway tracks. Then, go south and cross the bridge across the tracks to reach the main building of the Faculty of Science (number 5). If you want to come on foot, it should take approximately 20 to 25 minutes from the city center.

If you come by train, you can take the bus number 7 north of the railway station (letter B on the map), or you can walk and follow the road north of the railway tracks until you reach Portes-Rouges (15 minutes).

You can enter the building from the north or south entrances. You will find signs leading to the conference room, number B217, located two floors above the entrance level in the south-east portion of the building (see the map below).
